Hutchinson CC Sports Information

Hutchinson Community College football garnered two more Jayhawk Conference Players of the Week after a KJCCC championship-clinching 42-8 road victory at Independence on Saturday.

Quarterback Samari Collier was named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Linebacker K'Von Sherman earned his first career league Defensive Player of the Week award.

Collier is the sixth Offensive Player of the Week winner this season. Sherman is the fifth Defensive award winner. The Dragons have a grand total of 15 KJCCC Players of the Week this season.

SAMARI COLLIER – Offensive Player of the Week
Collier threw for four touchdowns and had 256 total yards in Hutchinson's conference championship-clinching victory. Collier threw for touchdowns of 67, 70, 65 and 3 yards against the Pirates. He was 6 of 15 passing, but had no interceptions. Collier also ran for 36 yards on seven carries to pace the Blue Dragons.

K'VON SHERMAN – Defensive Player of the Week
Sherman led the Blue Dragons in tackles with seven total stop in Hutchinson's 42-8 win over Independence.

Sherman had a quarterback sack for an eight-yards loss and 1.5 total tackles for loss, accounting for 11 yards.

Sherman had one of six quarterback sacks by the Blue Dragons, which held Independence to a negative-13 rushing yards.
