BROWN NAMED KJCCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hutchinson Community College sophomore Daniel Brown was named the Jayhawk Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week for this second time this season after another impressive performance in last Saturday's 27-18 victory by the No. 1-ranked Blue Dragons over Garden City at Gowans Stadium.

Brown improved his nation-leading quarterback sack total to 13 with three sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss against the Busters.

Brown finished with six total tackles, including five solo stops. Brown has had eight sacks in the last three games. He leads the nation in both sacks and tackles for loss.

Brown is the fourth Blue Dragon to be named the conference's player of the week. Jordan Scruggs and Ryan Nolan have each won the award once this season. Brown is the 13th overall Blue Dragon to earn weekly conference honors.
