After an impressive 27-2 road victory at No. 5 Iowa Central on Saturday, the top-ranked Hutchinson Community College football team was honored with a Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week sweep, the league announced on Tuesday.

Quarterback Samari Collier became the first blue Dragon to rush and pass for at least 100 yards in a game since 2018. He was named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week. Freshman defensive back Ryan Nolan had three interceptions against the Tritons. He was the league's Defensive Player of the Week. Sophomore punter Stefaan Forbes had an overshadowed contribution to the Blue Dragon victory at Iowa Central. He earned Special Teams Player of the Week.

Through the first three weeks of the season, seven different Blue Dragons have earned KJCCC Football weekly honors.

SAMARI COLLIER – Offensive Player of the Week
Collier completed 11 of 20 passes for 176 yards with a pair of 16-yard touchdown passes against the Tritons. He rushed for 107 yards on 14 carries, including a 29-yard touchdown run after breaking containment in the third quarter that gave the Blue Dragons a 17-2 lead.

Collier is the first Blue Dragon quarterback to both run and pass for 100 yards in a game since Mark Wright (195 passing, 121 rushing) against Butler on September 28, 2019.

RYAN NOLAN – Defensive Player of the Week
Nolan tied a Blue Dragon single-game record with three interceptions against the Tritons. All three of Nolan's interceptions came in the third quarter.

The three picks tied Jaylon Myers' who had three interceptions in 2014 against Coffeyville.

In addition to his three picks, Nolan broke up three other passes and has three total tackles.

Nolan is now tied for the national lead with three interceptions and five passes broken up.

STEFAAN FORBES – Special Teams Player of the Week
Forbes had 104 hidden yards that were key to No. 1 Hutchinson's 27-2 victory at No. 5 Iowa Central.

Forbes punted only twice but for 104 net yards and a 52.0 yard-per-punt average.

With the game in the balance in the first half, Forbes had two punts downs at the Iowa Central 1 and 10 yard lines.

The Dragons led only 10-2 at halftime thanks to Forbes changing the game with his perfect field-possession punts.
