Hutchinson Community College sophomore pitcher Caden Wanless became the second Blue Dragon pitcher this season to be named Jayhawk West Pitcher of the Week.

Announced on Tuesday, Wanless earned the weekly conference honor after working two innings in relief in a 10-2 Hutchinson victory over Rose State on Saturday in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Wanless, a 5-foot-10, 220-pound right-handed pitcher from Liberty, Missouri, worked to just six Rose State batters and struck out five as part of 15-strikeout performance by four Blue Dragon pitchers against the Raiders.

Wanless has made three appearances for Hutchinson early in the season and is 1-0 with a 1.50 earned-run average with 12 strikeouts in six inning worked.

Wanless joins Trenton Roehler as Blue Dragon pitchers to earn conference pitcher of the week honors.
