EL DORADO – The Hutchinson Community College ended the 2022 regular season on a tough note as the Butler Grizzlies swept the Blue Dragons on Friday at the Power Plant.

The Blue Dragons lost 25-13, 25-14, 25-12 as Butler swept the regular-season series for the second-straight season.

Hutchinson completes the regular season 25-11 and 12-4 in the Jayhawk West, which puts Hutchinson as the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Region VI Tournament next week. The Blue Dragons will play host to an opening-round match on Wednesday. Official pairings will be announced soon.

Butler, which clinched the No. 1 seed for the Region VI Tournament and a share of the Jayhawk West title, took early control of all three sets from the Blue Dragons.

Freshman Taniya Golden led the Dragon with 10 kills and two aces. Sophomore Baylee Miller had six kills and freshman Anna Dean had five kills.

Sophomore setter Andrea Serrano had 20 assists, while sophomore Morgan Harvey finished with eight digs. Miller had four digs.
