PRATT – The 17th-ranked Hutchinson Community College Volleyball team racked up 12 team blocks and nine service aces as the Blue Dragons rolled to a Jayhawk West sweep of the Pratt Beavers on Wednesday.

The Blue Dragons won their 25th consecutive match over the Beavers with a 25-15, 25-11, 25-12 victory at the Beaver Done.

The Blue Dragons improve to 13-3 overall and 2-1 in the Jayhawk West. Hutchinson travels to Sterling, Colorado for four matches, three against nationally ranked teams, in the NJC Classic.

Freshman outside hitter Taniya Golden led the Blue Dragons with nine kills.

Freshman middle Anna Dean had six kills and a team-high five block assists.

Freshman Alejandra Briseno finished with five kills and sophomore Baylee Miller had four kills.

Running a 5-1 offense, freshman setter Giovanna Ravenhani finished with a season-high 29 assists.

Sophomore libero Morgan Harvey finished with team highs of eight digs and three service aces.

Freshman Perrine Blanc finished with seven digs. Briseno and sophomore Sophie Connor had two aces each.

Two quick kills each from Briseno and Golden gave the Blue Dragons an early 7-3 lead in the first set. Leading 22-15, Golden had another kill and Dean added an ace in a 4-0 run to close the set at 25-15.

The Dragons opened the second set on a 5-1 run, but Pratt rallied to tie the set at 7-7. The Dragons scored five in a row, which was capped by a Blondie Penaflor/Connor double block. A Harvey service ace made it 15-9. The Dragons then scored nine unanswered points to build a 23-9 lead. Hutch had a stuff block on set point, a 25-11 win.

The Blue Dragons trailed in the third set 8-7, but took over the set with a run of six unanswered points, capped by Miller's kill to make it 13-8. Another Harvey ace capped the run at 13-2 for a 20-8 lead. The Dragons scored on 4 of the final 5 rallies to finish off the match in 1 hour, 6 minutes.
