SCHROCK LEADS LIST OF BLUE DRAGON PR’S AT TABOR

HILLSBORO – Sophomore thrower Hannah Schrock led a list of four personal records to lead the Hutchinson Community College women's track and field team on Saturday at the Tabor College Invitational.

Schrock had outdoor PRs in both the shot put and discus. Emme Watkins and Aidyn White both had PRs in the triple jump, while sophomores Louise Cocking and Noel Buckhaults each won an event for the Blue Dragons at Wiens Stadium.

The Blue Dragons did not get any new NJCAA national qualifications on Saturday. That total remains at five.

The Blue Dragons will next compete in the Butler Invitational, which was moved back a day to Saturday, April 30, for the final regular-season meet of the season.

Schrock placed second on Saturday in the discus with a PR distance of 123 feet, 9 inches. Her best effort of the day came on the first attempt in the finals. Schrock placed sixth in the shot put with a distance of 35 feet, 6.5 inches.

Watkins had a PR in her sixth-place triple jump performance with a jump of 32-5.5, White placed sixth in the triple jump with a PR of 31-8.

Cocking won the Tabor Invite 1,500 meters with a time of 5:21.06.

Buckhaults claimed the Steeplechase title on Saturday with a time of 13:03.99.

Sophomore Violet Martinez placed second in the pole vault after clearing 10 feet, 2 inches.

Sophomore Patrisha Doll was third in the javelin after throwing 110-8.

The Blue Dragon 4x400 relay team of Courtney Baetz, Anastasia Meyer, Buckhaults and Keneah Romney placed third with a time of 4:18.19.

Other top performances for the Blue Dragons on Saturday were:

+ Romney placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.11

+ Meyer was fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:36.87

+ Freshman Ashliona Martin was seventh in the 100 meters with a time of 12.50 seconds.

+ Lushous Davis was seventh in the shot put at 34-4.5.

+ White was eighth in the long jump with a best jump of 14-9.25
