Several Hutchinson Community College women's soccer players produced career single-game highs as the No. 20-ranked Blue Dragons posted their fourth-straight shutout on Wednesday night at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

Led by sophomore Aimee Maher's first career hat trick, the Blue Dragons rolled to a 6-0 Jayhawk West victory over Dodge City.

Hutchinson improves to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Jayhawk West. The Blue Dragons travel to Johnson County on Saturday. Dodge City falls to 1-3-1 overall and 0-3 in the league. Hutchinson is now 26-1 all-time against Dodge City, including 25 consecutive victories over the Conquistadors.

Maher posted the Blue Dragons' second hat trick of the season for the Blue Dragons. Hadlie Lowe had a hat trick against Western Nebraska on August 26. Maher scored all three of her goals in the second half on Wednesday.

Maher is the 42nd different Blue Dragon player in program history to record a hat trick. This was the 95th all-time hat trick in Blue Dragon history and it was the 48th hat trick where all three goals came in the same half. Maher's seven points – she had a first-half assist – were a career high as well.

Freshman Maren Lackey scored her first two collegiate goals on Wednesday. She scored twice in the first half, including the game's first goal for her first career game winner.

Lowe and sophomore Julia De Souza both had career-high three assist games, which was the 58th and 59th times in program history a player had three assists in a game.

Sophomore Olivia Felix-Cardona improved to 4-0 with her second shutout this season. She made three saves as the Blue Dragons ran their scoreless minutes' streak to 435 minutes.

The Blue Dragons out-shot Dodge City 24-8, including 14-3 in shots on goal. The Dragons generated five corner kicks.

Playing into a 15-20 mph wins in the first half, the Blue Dragons scored three times.

Lackey scored her first career goal 8:26 into the game when she laced a shot past the Dodge City keeper for a 1-0 lead. Lowe was credited with the assist.

The Dragons took a 2-0 lead with 14:15 to play in the first half on a Dodge City own goal. Dayza Holliman made a strong run up the field on a quick counter and played the ball to Lowe in the left corner. Lowe drove to the goal and her cross was knocked into the goal by a sliding Conquistador defender.

Lackey scored her second goal of the game with 57 seconds remaining in the first half. De Souza had the primary assist and Maher had the secondary assist as Hutchinson led 3-0 at halftime.

Maher's first two goals came just 1 minute, 7 second apart. Lowe and De Souza assisted on Maher's first goal with 32:32 remaining. Lowe had the helper on the second goal with 31:25 to play for a 5-0 Dragon lead.

Maher completed the hat trick when she squeezed a shot past the Dodge City keeper in the lower left corner for a 6-0 lead with 20:51 to play in the game.

Hutchinson's 7-0 start in the first since the 2017 team started 9-0.
