VICTORIA – Freshman Connor Kaufman led the Hutchinson Community College men's cross country team to a fifth-place finish on Saturday at a soggy Fort Hays State Tiger Open at Sand Trail Nature Trail.

The first race was delayed one hour because heavy overnight rains left a lot of standing water on the course.

The Blue Dragons finished with 144 points to place fifth overall. The Dragons were the fourth-highest Jayhawk Conference team of nine teams competing. Allen won the men's team title with 30 points.
