NJCAA DIVISION I MEN'S BASKETBALL RANKINGS - WEEK 2

Three more victories last week and the Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team climbed the national rankings for the second-straight week.

The Blue Dragon men were ranked No. 4 in the nation in the latest NJCAA Division I basketball poll, which were released Monday.

Hutchinson earned wins over Victoria College Friday, 121-95, and on Saturday following a 112-89 victory over Wilbur Wright College to start 6-0 this season. The Blue Dragons have allowed under 100 points in the last three games and scored the second-most points in program history last Wednesday in the 139-84 win over Labette.

Also ranked from the Jayhawk Conference were Coffeyville at No. 8, jumping up from No. 12 and on a 6-0 start. Butler is also 6-0 and rose from No. 18 to No. 12 in this week's poll. Garden City, 4-0, is No. 22. Seward County, Barton and Cowley all received votes.

Northwest Florida State, Indian Hills and Salt Lake are the top 3 teams ahead of the Blue Dragons this week.

The Blue Dragons open conference play at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sports Arena against Independence.
