Davin Hawkins returns to the Blue Dragons for his second coaching stint with the program. In his second seasonback, Hawkins will be the safties and head strength & conditioning coach.

Hawkins was part of the Blue Dragon coaching staff in 2018 as the Tight Ends coach. That team went 9-3 and won the Salt City Bowl.

After leaving Hutchinson the first time, Hawkins went to Del Rio, Texas, to coach prep football at Del Rio High School, From 2019 through 2022, Hawkins was the offensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach for three consecutive Texas state playoff teams.

Before Hawkins’ first position in Hutchinson. He spent one season as the tight ends coach and special teams’ assistant at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. Langston finished 10-0 overall and won a conference championship, earning a No. 8 national ranking.

Prior to Hawkins moving to Langston, he served as the defensive backs coach and strength and conditioning coach at Glenwood High School in Phenix City, Alabama in the fall of 2016. That season Glenwood finished 8-4 and made it to the semifinals in the 3A state playoffs.

That spring Hawkins played linebacker for the Columbus Lions in the National Arena League; the Lions finished 13-0 and won the National Arena League championship.

Hawkins played collegiately at the University of South Alabama, where he lettered at linebacker, safety and tight end.

During his junior season at South Alabama, he interned at McGill-Toolen High School where he coached the defensive backs. In his lone season at McGill-Toolen they made it to the state championship game.

Hawkins received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration. He hails from Gadsden, Alabama and is a graduate from Etowah High School.

Hawkins and his wife, Sinclair, have two children: Kai (3) and Blake (1).
