SEGRAVES TAPPED AS KJCCC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hutchinson Community College freshman kicker Cole Segraves had a career game on Saturday as the No. 2-ranked Blue Dragons defeated Dodge City 47-14 at Dodge City.

The freshman kicker from Maize was named the Jayhawk Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Segraves had career highs for number of field goals and long field goal on Saturday. Segraves was 4 of 4 on field goals, making from 35, 33, 45 and a career-long 46 yards. He was also 5 of 5 on extra-point attempts for a career single-game high 17 points.

Segraves is the first kicker since Kevin Coleman in 2004 to make four field goals in a single game in Blue Dragon history.

Segraves is the second Blue Dragon this season to earn KJCCC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Darby Roper earned the honor in Week 2.

Quarterback Dylan Laible, running back Rontavious Richmond and running back Dylan Kedzior were named League Offensive Players of the week. Kedzior won back-to-back honors over the past two weeks. Linebacker R.J. Evans and Nikko Taylor have earned KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season.

Now ranked No. 1, the Blue Dragons are off this week and will travel to Garden City October 22.
