Blue Dragon Men's & Women's Cross Country

The Fun Valley Sports Complex plays host to a number of Blue Dragon athletic events and teams.

The Blue Dragon softball team plays its home games on Field 3 of the complex, which is a seven-field complex which also hosts Hutchinson and Nickerson High School games. The Valley is a true natural grass facility but is due to have turf installed in summer 2024.

The Blue Dragons won the Jayhawk conference championship for the first time since 1992 at the Valley in spring 2023 en route to winning their most games in program history.

In the summer 2024, the field the Blue Dragons play on is due to have turf installed in the entirety of the playing surface. 

Fun Valley also is home to the Blue Dragon cross country teams. Most notably, the site hosts the Terry Masteron Twilight Classic, a race to kick off the cross country season illuminated with lights and ran after dark that has had more than 150 competitors in the men’s and women’s races each in the last few years since the COVID-19 pandemic.
