Hutchinson CC Sports Information

WICHITA – The Hutchinson Community College women's track and field team had two to-eight placings on Friday on Day 1 of the Friends University Invitational at Austin-Adair Stadium.

Day 1 featured just a handful of events. Saturday's final day begins with field events at 9 a.m. and running events at Noon.

The Blue Dragon 4x800 Relay team posted the sixth-best time in Blue Dragon history on Friday and finished fourth in the event. The relay team of Noel Buckhaultz, Anastasia Meyer, Sydney Grauer and Louise Cocking ran a time of 10:04.70. That time is 2.95 seconds shy of qualifying for nationals.

The only other placers for the Blue Dragons came in the pole vault as All-Americans Kiana Brown and Violet Martinez tied for eighth after clearing 9 feet, 8 inches.
