The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team begins a key five-game stretch over the next 14 days that will have a significant bearing on the Blue Dragons' postseason seeding.

Riding a seven-game winning streak, the Blue Dragons (17-4, 11-4 KJCCC) travels to Great Bend on Saturday to meet the Barton Cougars for the second time this season.

Tipoff at Barton's Kirkman Activities Center is at 5:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 5:15 p.m. The Blue Dragon Sports Network will not have a stream of the. Barton Sports will provide a pay-per-view feed beginning at 5:15 p.m.

After Hutchinson's 88-57 home victory over Pratt on Wednesday at the Sports Arena, the Blue Dragons moved past Barton into third place in the Jayhawk Conference standings. The Cougars (16-4, 10-4 KJCCC) were stunned on the road Wednesday, falling 94-75 at Cowley.

The next five games of the Blue Dragons are Barton, Cowley, No. 23 Butler, at Coffeyville and No. 12 Dodge City. The first time through that stretch of opponents, the Blue Dragons went 2-3.

The Blue Dragons have completely turned things around in the second time through the conference. After starting the season 1-4 in true road games, the Dragons have climbed back to .500 away from the Sports Arena with three-straight road victories.

Hutchinson comes off a season-high 53.8 percent shooting performance in the victory over Pratt on Wednesday. Mya Williams had 19 points, while Monae Duffy added her sixth double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Barton was outscored 39-0 from the 3-point line in Wednesday's loss at Cowley. The Cougars were 0 of 13 from distance, while the Tigers sank 13 of 33 from the arc.

The Blue Dragons will bid for a key series sweep on Saturday. Hutchinson rallied from 10 points down at halftime after shooting just 5 of 32 in the first half to defeat Barton 56-51 on November 29 at the Sports Arena. The Dragons outscored Barton 39-24 in the second half. Kali Howard led the Dragons with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Morgan Meyers had 16 points to lead Barton in the first game.
