Sophomore Carsyn Turpin led the Hutchinson Community College men's cross country team at the Region VI/KJCCC meet Friday at the Fun Valley Sports Complex.

Turpin was the top individual player for the Blue Dragons, coming in 36th place with a time of 27:21.81 in the men's 8,000-meter race. Turpin was the top Blue Dragon runner to finish for the first time this season.

Freshman Douwe Bentsink finished in 38th place, clocking in at 27:32.00. Freshman Christian Darrah was the third Blue Dragon to finish within the Top 50, finishing in 50th place with a time of 28:10.07.

The Blue Dragons weren't able to post a team score in either the region or conference standings because not enough runners were able to finish the race. Five runners need to finish to post a team score.

NJCAA Division I top-ranked Colby won the regional title with runners finishing in first, third, fourth, seventh, eighth, 10th, and 13th.
