Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College men's cross country remained No. 17 in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national rankings.

Colby topped the rankings for the second poll in a row at No. 1, Butler jumped two spots up to No. 7, and Garden City fell a couple spots to No. 22.

The Blue Dragon men are coming off a 22nd-place finish at the Chili Pepper Festival in Arkansas where they had two runners place in the top 100 of the men's 8K division.

Freshman Douwe Bentsink ran a career-best in the 8,000-meter race with a time of 27:18.5 and finished 73rd overall. That time beat his mark at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitational by 16 seconds.

Freshman Hayden Keller was the other Blue Dragon to finish in the top 100 in the race, coming in 76th with a time of 27:22.5.

The Blue Dragon men and women will compete at the Ollie Isom Invitational in El Dorado Friday, Oct. 14.
